ABOUT US

Sandbach Choral Society is a friendly and enthusiastic choir with roots in Sandbach stretching back to 1947. Our mission is to bring choral music alive to the local community and to work with and encourage young people to participate in our performances.

Around 65 members currently enjoy the music and friendship gained from being part of Sandbach Choral Society. Our members come from all walks of life and have a range of musical interests and tastes. We perform a wide variety of music, ranging from baroque choral music to opera choruses, popular songs and contemporary pieces, working with professional musicians and soloists to give performances of the highest quality.

The choir has performed some ambitious choral programmes which have included Orff’’s Carmina Burana, Britten’s Noye’s Fludde and Handel’s Dixit Dominus. Other concerts have included Mozart's Twelfth Mass and Requiem and a sell-out performance of The Pirates of Penzance.  In 2015 we joined Altrincham Choral Society to perform Verdi's Requiem at the Royal Northern College of Music.
